I wanted to lose fat while maintaining as much of my muscle and strength as possible. I had actually used Carbon once before in 2022, and I don’t actually know why I stopped using it, but what drew me to Carbon this time around was that I would be given macros to follow and they would be adjusted automatically. It felt easier to me that the only thing I felt like I needed to do was track honestly. I had been tracking but not honestly and consistently. The structure of the app really helped me. I had gained some weight back in 2023 and I started 2024 determined not to keep backsliding.
I struggle with feeling like I “need” something sweet at the end of the day. It had gotten to the point where I would go over my macros just to have a dessert and then sometimes being honest with yourself about how much you’re eating is hard.
I love that you are given a range to stick to instead of one static number. I saw most of my progress while sticking to the higher end of the range given to me and that helped me to stay on track. I also love that the focus is mainly on protein and staying in your calorie range that makes tracking macros a lot less stressful.
In January before I started using Carbon again I started with just tracking without a goal, I knew I needed a specific goal and Carbon setting that for me was key.
