1) What change were you wanting to make when you started Carbon?
I was hoping to lose some extra postpartum weight that I couldn't seem to manage. My body was under more stress with pumping around the clock and my metabolism felt totally out of whack. I'd been in the best shape of my life right before getting pregnant, but I wasn't able to train at the same level with an infant, and my body felt like it was responding differently to the same foods I've always eaten. I was at a loss.
2) What struggles did you encounter as you were working through those changes?

I went from never having to count calories (but doing some major body recomposition while training hard and eating well), to feeling like I was always starving but still holding onto, and gaining, body fat.
3) What was different about Carbon?
I really liked the aspect of having to hold myself accountable by being "compliant". It made me realize how little I knew about calories, especially in a time when my body was demanding so much from me. I had a hard time being compliant at first, but once I was able to figure out how to properly eat for volume, it got easier. At one point, I was even moving my maintenance calories up and was still seeing the scale go down.
4) Tell us about the moment you realized Carbon was fundamental in solving your problem.
Once I lost my first three pounds and was able to stay compliant for a few weeks, it started to click, and it gave me the push to stay disciplined. There was a point where my calorie target felt really low and tough to stick to, but by focusing on hitting my protein, I was still able to make progress. Even on the weeks when I went a little over, I continued losing weight.
5) Tell us what life looks like now that you are finding success with Carbon.
I don't track quite as closely as I did when I was in a deficit, but I feel like I've really been able to dial in volume eating and I can better understand approximate measurements without pulling out the scale for every meal.
